Gavin was a finalist in the Promega UK Young Life Scientist Awards. His abstract entitled "hypoxia mimicking materials in tissue regeneration" was shortlisted for a presentation at the Young Life Scientists’ Symposium at the Bristol Council House on Thursday 14th May 2009. Promega invited 6 finalists to the awards, selected from over 150 initial entrants.
